Welcome to Digital Future Scotland

cvdk1 copyWe are Katie Barrowman and Susan Galloway, both English and Media teachers in Glasgow, and both currently seconded to the city council as Leaders of Learning, (a role which sees us supporting learning and teaching across the city in primary, secondary and ASN establishments).

We met as job-share partners for a year in a Glasgow secondary school, and have worked together on various English and Media based projects ever since, including a well-regarded scheme of work for S3 English based on the Zombie phenomenon. (Listen to us talk about the project and access the resources here.)

After listening to an inspirational keynote speech from Chris Van Der Kuyl at the Scottish Learning Festival 2015, and attending a discussion with Chris and members of the digital education community in Scotland afterwards, we were galvanised to do something to support the teaching of digital competencies in Glasgow schools, and learn what we could from practice going on around the country, and the rest of the world. This blog is a thinking space and journal, where we can record our progress, share ideas, ask for help and air our thoughts. All opinions are our own and in no way reflect those of our employer.
